Abstract: This study focused on the fabrication of polymeric anion exchange membranes (AEM) with high hydroxide conductivity and chemical stability by making use of polyethersulfone (PES) as the polymer and graphene oxide (GO) as the inorganic filler. Both the PES and GO were modified by quaternary imidazolium groups to produce hydroxide conductive channels. The membranes were prepared by solution blending of imidazolium functionalized graphene oxide and chloromethylated polyethersulfone, followed by phase inversion casting method to produce Quaternized Polyethersulfone/Imidazolium functionalized Graphene Oxide (QPES/ImGO) composite membranes with varying wt% of the ImGO...M.Sc.
