Abstract: Water pollution remains one of the serious environmental problems and has drawn attention globally in recent years, precisely because of the various pollutants entering the aquatic systems. Numerous technologies have been widely used to remediate toxic pollutants from wastewater. Efforts are continuously exerted to develop an adsorbent that will selectively and efficiently remove pollutants from wastewater. The use of agricultural waste material seems to offer a much cheaper alternative for heavy metal removal from wastewater.
