Antecedentes: La encefalopatía hipóxico-isquémica (EHI) es una de las principales patologías en la población neonatal, genera alta morbimortalidad y altos costos al sistema de salud. El pronóstico neurológico es variable y estudios han evidenciado mejor pronóstico en pacientes con variabilidad de la frecuencia cardíaca sometidos a hipotermia.
