Abstract Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) have more than twofold risk of sexual dysfunction compared with age-matched healthy persons. Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery benefits in CAD populations are well established. Erectile dysfunction (ED) in men and arousal difficulties in women are highly prevalent in CAD, yet it is frequently under-recognized and under-diagnosed in clinical practice.
