Obesity is a major and growing public health problem in Finland and worldwide. The burden of obesity is unequally distributed between socioeconomic groups, however. In Finland, socioeconomic differences in obesity have persisted over decades. To reduce socioeconomic inequalities in obesity, understanding the trajectories behind these differences is crucial.
