International audienceThe study of the pottery found in the excavations of BEY 002 at Beirut helped to identify a kind oflocal common ware which is predominant in the Roman period levels (late 1st century BC-early 2nd century AD).It is technically the same than the Hellenistic one. Its repertory combines fire pots belonging to the near easterntradition since the Iron Age with some “casseroles” from the Greek vessel and fire dishes imitating the Campanianones. This pottery shows the early integration of Beirut in an internationalisation of the kitchen material and ofthe culinary habits, and probably outlines the presence of an important Italian settlement at Beirut as soon as the early 1st century BC.La reprise de l'étude du mobilier des fou...
