PEMBERDAYAAN NELAYAN TERDAMPAK AKTIVITAS PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK TENAGA UAP (PLTU) SUMURADEM SEBAGAI UPAYA PENINGKATAN KESEJAHTERAAN DI DESA UJUNGGEBANG

Pollution caused by the construction and activity of the Sumuradem Steam Power Plant in Sukra Subdistrict Indramayu Regency has reaped a lot of losses for the fishing community of Ujunggebang Village, pollution in the form of Dredging waste has damaged the aquatic ecosystem of Ujunggebang Village which has disrupted the livelihoods of fishing communities. The Indramayu Regency Government through the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service has tried to solve the problems faced by the fishing community of Ujunggebang Village through an empowerment program so that the fishing community can return to their activities and be able to improve their welfare, but experiencing several obstacles such as natural resources in the fishing area which are experiencing a decline, boats and fishing boats. which are still traditional in size under 5GT, and fishing gear that is damaged. This study uses a qualitative descriptive type. The techniques used in data collection are observation, interviews and documentation. The theory used is Riant Nugroho's empowerment theory. The interview subjects in this study were the Head of the Small Fisherman Empowerment Division of the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Indramayu Regency, the Assistant for Small Fishermen of the Marine and Fisheries Service of Indramayu Regency, Kuwu of Ujunggebang Village, and the Head of the Fish Auction Place of Ujunggebang Village. The data analysis technique used to describe is in the form of words and pictures derived from manuscripts, interviews, field notes, and documents and other supporting data. The results of the empowerment of the fishing community in Ujunggebang Village carried out by the Indramayu Regency Government through the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, namely the Millennium Gillnet net-making training program which aims to replace traditional fishing gear that is prone to damage and tearing caused by carrying Dredging waste material and snagging coal that falls into the village waters. Ujunggebang, besides that the Indramayu Regency Government has not completely resolved the problems faced by the fishing community of Ujunggebang Village because there are still problems with the size of the boats used by the fishing community to be able to use the Millennium Gillnet nets optimally
