ANALISIS METODE PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER RELIGIUS SISWA DI MAN 1 KOTA PROBOLINGGO

Schools have a significant role in contributing to shaping the character of students based on the 2013 curriculum. The implementation of moral or moral education has become a national movement as character building in preparing students who have religiosity and religious spirituality. (habituation) which is done repeatedly, exemplary done by teachers and school members and enforcement of rules. This study analyzes the factors that influence the formation of religious character both quantitatively and qualitatively. This problem is important to understand and explain in depth the extent to which the effectiveness of the character building method at MAN 1 Probolinggo City has implications for the realization of the quality of graduates with a comprehensive religious character. The objectives to be achieved in this study are: (1) Explaining the influence of knowledge, habituation, example, and enforcement of rules on the formation of students' religious character at MAN 1 Probolinggo City; (2) To understand the implementation of students' religious character formation at MAN 1 Probolinggo City. This research was designed using mixed methods or mixed quantitativequalitative methods. Sequential explanatory design is used in model combination research by combining quantitative and qualitative research methods sequentially. The population used in this study were all students of class XI and XII of MAN 1 Probolinggo City who had gained knowledge (X1) of habituation methods (X2) and exemplary (X3) and rule enforcement (X4). The total population is 277 students with a research sample of 150 students. This research generally finds the concept of character education formation in an educational environment which includes knowledge, habituation, exemplary and rule enforcement which is based on the principles of integrated moral knowing, moral feeling and moral action. The results of this study found a theoretical model for the formation of religious character in schools through the implementation of knowledge, habituation, exemplary and rule enforcement. The contribution of all variables in the formation of religious character is 42.3%. The remaining 67.3% was influenced by other factors not described in this study. Of the four variables that have a major contribution to character building, the example given by teachers and school members is 38.5%. The teacher's role in inculcating morals and exemplary has a significant influence in shaping the religious character of students. Likewise, regulations in the form of enforcing rules and habituation provide motivation for students in the formation of religious character
