Humans are equipped with sens and mind to formulate a system that can be used as a tool or a way to explain the understanding of Islam. Basically, the Islamic concept of education aims to maintain human nature, leave on values, and form a complete human being (insan kamil). However, with the development of the times, not a few Muslims have begun to float off in the worldly pleasures so as to put aside the afterlife. Therefore, to find out the role and success of the ta'lim assembly in the process of increasing people's religious understanding, one of them is by using qualitative methods. The formulation of the problem in this study: First, how are the efforts of Majlis Ta'lim Nurul Iman in increasing religious understanding in the Al-Barokah Lawang Mosque, Lawang sub-district. Second, what are the supporter and resistor factors of Majlis Ta'lim Nurul Iman's efforts in increasing religious understanding in Lawang sub-district. Theoretical studies in this study include: Majelis Ta'lim and Religious Understanding. This research uses naturalistic qualitative research, with data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. While the type of research is field research, where researchers are more flexible to analyze in depth and thoroughly. Then in collecting data used the method of interview, observation, and documentation. The collected data was analyzed systematically using three steps, namely data reduction, data display, and verification for drawing conclusions. In order for the data obtained to be valid, the researcher also chose the technique of persistence of observation, triangulation, and peer discussion as a technique for checking the validity of the data. the results of this study indicate that the efforts carried out by the Ta'lim Nurul Iman Council greatly influence in increasing the understanding of religion, so that people are increasingly aware that Islam has regulated the procedures for life in the world and preparation of provisions in the hereafter
