Keywords: Guidence, Islamic Character, Habituation, . At this time the moral decline is becoming the main concern of educators in Indonesia. The phenomenon of moral degradation of the younger generation until the older generation was becaming apprehension of the world of education. Because basically all forms of individual and social behavior are nothing but the result of education obtained in the past, and lots of corruption among government officials, dishonesty, and cheating, as well as the prevalence of gambling, adultery, crime, to bullying behavior, and disgraceful behavior towards older people have become the daily news themes in the information media. These were the proof of disgrace in the education process in Indonesia. This study aims: (1) to describe the process of developing Islamic character for students at MTs Almaarif 03 Singosari (2) to describe the factors causing the success of developing Islamic character at MTs Almaarif 03 Singosari. This research uses qualitative research and the type of research uses descriptive analysis. Sources of data are school principals and teacher councils, especially PAI teachers, parents and guardians of students and the local community. This research was done in February 2021. This study used several methods to obtain data, namely by interviewing, indirect observation, documentation and triangulation for the validity of the data. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman analysis technique, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions and verification which are carried out interactively and continue to be complete, until the data reaches saturation. The results of the study show (1) character education through habituation of students to always have ablution before entering class, reading Asmaulhusna, reading sholawat nariyah, doing Duha prayer and continuing with recitation of classical books such as fiqh, talimu mutaalim and other books and after it just started formal learning. Through motivation, with the motivation, students are encouraged to take an action based on awareness of identity and responsibility. (2) The determination of Islamic character development is supported by several things including, a very supportive school location located around rice fields with very cool air, teachers always provide good directions and examples for students, and parents and the community always support with Islamic activities at MTs Al Maarif 03 Singosari
