ANALISIS RAGAM BAHASA SLANG DI MEDIA SOSIAL TWITTER PADA KALANGAN MILENIAL

Twitter is still one of the options for socializing in cyberspace. This is because Twitter is a place for someone to be creative in the form of words. There are some words that are modified by some people, especially millennials to simplifaying the language or hide the meaning of the word. So that only a group of people will know the language. To find out the variety of languages used by millennials, an analysis of the variety of slang used on Twitter social media was carried out, in order to understand the form and meaning of the slang words. Through sociolinguistic studies on the variety of slang, the words were analyzed as data to determine the formation and meaning of slang words. This study uses a qualitative approach and uses a descriptive research method based on sociolinguistic research. Data obtained from tweets on twitter. The data obtained can be in the form of word units consisting of words or phrases. Data collection is done by reading, taking screenshots, taking notes. data processing techniques 1) Grouping based on word formation. 2) Analyze the content of the meaning of slang words. 3) Make conclusions from the analysis and research conducted. The results of the study indicate that the results of the analysis of the variety of slang language among millennials there are two focuses of study namely the formation of slang words and the meaning of slang words. The formation of slang words in this study consists of (1) formation of words based on affixes to words, (2) formation of reduplication words or also called word repetitions, (3) formation of compositional words or combining two or more words, (4) formation of abbreviations or reductions in words. While the meanings contained in the slang words studied were categorized based on their denotative (actual) meaning and connotative (figurative) meaning
