HUBUNGAN PRODUKSI DAN HARGA BERAS DOMESTIK TERHADAP VOLUME IMPOR BERAS

The high tendency of people to consume rice makes the demand for rice inelastic where price increases and decreases are not able to affect the demand for rice. On the other hand, to meet the demand for rice, the government opens a rice import faucet which is useful as price stability and availability of rice. The objectives of this study are: 1) To describe the development of rice production trends, domestic rice prices and rice import volumes; 2) Describe the relationship between rice production and domestic rice prices on the volume of rice imports. The type of data used is secondary data for the 2010 – 2019 time series obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Data collection techniques using literature study and documentation. The analysis used are: 1) Trend Analysis; 2) Multiple Correlation Analysis. The results of the trend analysis showed that rice production showed a negative trend or decreased by 537,686,903 tons/year. Meanwhile, domestic rice prices showed a positive trend or increased by Rp. 591.8666667/year and the volume of rice imports showed a negative trend or decreased by 65.095.30909 tons/year. The results of the multiple correlation analysis show that the variable of rice production and domestic rice prices are not simultaneously and significantly related to the volume of rice imports
