PERSEPSI GURU DAN SISWA TERKAIT PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA KELAS ATAS DI SDN GADING REJO 2 KOTA PASURUAN

This research was conducted at SDN Gading Rejo 2 Pasuruan City which aims to describe: (1) the types of mathematics learning difficulties in upper grade children, (2) the factors that cause difficulties in learning mathematics and (3) the efforts made by teachers in overcoming the difficulties in learning mathematics. The types and approaches used are descriptive and qualitative approaches. The collection method used in this study is the method of observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data sour ces were chosen by the principal, upper-class teachers and upper-class students, with three students and two study groups from each class. The number of students as many as 18 students and 6 teachers. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The types of difficulties experienced by upper class students are difficulties in learning mathematics in the aspects of facts, skills, principles, and, concepts. (b) The factors that cause students to have difficulty learning mathematics are the interests and talents and motivation of students themselves in learning mathematics, while other factors are the lack of motivation and support from parents made by guardians of students in overcoming students to learn mathematics. (c) The efforts made by teachers in overcoming students’ learning difficulties by bringing in students’ parents to motivate students to learn mathematics and conduct special learning to students
