ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF SISWA SMP DALAM MEMECAHKAN MASALAH MATEMATIS TIPE OPEN-ENDED

This study aims to analyze the ability to think creatively in solving open-ended mathematical problems. The type and research approach used is descriptive with qualitative data. The research subjects that will be used are six grade VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Batu who will be selected two from each category of high, medium and low. The instruments to be used are tests and interviews. The data to be taken is data on test and interview questions which are then analyzed by means of qualitative-descriptive research. The results obtained from 6 students who worked on 3 essay questions and were interviewed there were 3 students who had high mathematical problem solving skills, 2 medium and 1 low student with an average overall score of 65.27%. The ability of students to solve mathematical problems is in the moderate category because in understanding students' problems they are still lacking, do not make plans such as making models, making equations and solving steps and drawing conclusions that many students write are incomplete. As for the ability to think creatively in solving mathematical problems, there are 1 student who has high creative thinking ability, 3 medium and 2 low with an overall average score of 49.80%. Most students only use one way of solving problems, namely using mixed methods and only giving one correct answer, but students have been able to give different answers from other students
