SATIRE PENDIDIKAN DI INDONESIA DALAM STAND UP COMEDY PANDJI PRAGIWAKSONO (ANALISIS WACANA VAN DIJK SPECIAL SHOW MESAKKE BANGSAKU)

Although education in Indonesia has often experienced changes, satisfactory results have not been seen. Pandji Pragiwaksono as a public figure who has the power in his voice responds to problems in education in Indonesia through humour namely, stand-up comedy in his show entitled “Mesakke Bangsaku”. Pandji conveys various concerning and miserable things in Indonesia, education as the core. The purpose of this study is to understand how Pandji discourses on education in satire-laden material on a special stand-up comedy by Pandji Pragiwaksono “Mesakke Bangsaku” by using discourse analysis. To fulfil the stated objectives, this research uses Van Dijk’s theory of discourse analysis and also speech act theory to analyze the message in the text conveyed by Pandji Pragiwaksono by using an interpretative qualitative approach. The research data was collected using a documentation technique from the stand-up comedy show “Mesakke Bangsaku” which has been uploaded on comica.id. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the stand-up comedy show “Mesakke Bangsaku” contains sentences and expressions as a form of visual satire that describes the state of Indonesian education. In the conclusion of this research, Pandji Pragiwaksono stated that education in Indonesia had several shortcomings resulting from various aspects that should be addressed mostly by the government but also by the public. Based on the findings, the researcher makes several recommendations for the general public to be more cautious in acknowledging the messages individuals encounter in various forms of media more aware of what is happening in with there surrounding environment. The is recommended that further researchers select political issues to investigate how Pandji discourses on politics in Indonesia
