Pengaruh Terpaan Berita Televisi Mengenai Virus Corona (Covid.19) Terhadap Tingkat Kecemasan Masyarakat (Studi Pada Warga RT.01 RW.14 Perumahan Griya Permata Alam Ngijo Karangploso Kabupaten Malang)

Television is one of the mass media used by most people. One of the functions of television is to provide information to the public. Society as the audience of television media needs uptodate and updated news information. So that television media are competing to present news broadcasts. This study discusses the influence of exposure to television news about covid.19 on the level of public anxiety. Hypodermic needle theory says that people are vulnerable or easily influenced by mass communication messages. If the message conveyed is right on target about an audience, then it will get an effect desired by the communicator. The aims of this study are: (1) to measure the influence of television news exposure about the corona virus on the level of public anxiety. (2) to measure the influence of television news exposure about the corona virus on the level of public anxiety. The researcher uses a quantitative approach with associative research type, and uses survey methods on the basis of research. The location chosen is RT.01 RW.14 Griya Permata Alam Housing, Ngijo Karangploso, Malang Regency. While the data analysis method is simple linear regression analysis with the help of IMB SPSS Statistics 25. The results show (1) The calculation of the results of the T test shows that the t count is 6.864 and the t table is 1.685 with a significance of 0.05. So the conclusion from the T test is that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is a relationship between exposure to television news about COVID-19 and the level of public anxiety. (2) After testing the coefficient of determination (R2), the results show that the variable level of public anxiety (Y) has been influenced by 56.7% by exposure to television news about covid.19 (X). While the remaining 43.3% is influenced by other variables. This means that it is not only news shows about COVID-19 that affect the anxiety of viewers, there are many other factors that have not been included in this study
