TINJAUAN KRIMINOLOGIS TERJADINYA TINDAK PIDANA PENCURIAN KENDARAAN BERMOTOR DI KALANGAN MAHASISWA SEBAGAI KORBAN (Studi di Polsek Dau Kabupaten Malang )

There are limitations that cannot be resolved by criminal law, which basically criminal law itself only focuses on efforts to resolve a crime, not knowing how to prevent the occurrence of the crime. The occurrence of a crime is a cause - effect resulting from the process of interaction with the community environment in living their daily lives. This study aims to determine what factors cause motor vehicle theft among students as victims, as well as to find out what efforts can be made to minimize the occurrence of motor vehicle theft. Data obtained from the Dau Malang Police Sector as well as interviews with perpetrators and victims (students) of the crime of motor vehicle theft. then data and based on Criminology theory. Based on the analysis of the data and facts, the authors conclude, among others: factors that influence the occurrence of theft are economic factors, environmental factors and the weakness of law enforcement. Efforts made by law enforcement officers are preventive and repressive efforts. Prevention efforts carried out by the Police are conducting counseling and patrols. Repressive efforts are actions for perpetrators of theft through a criminal justice process and providing guidance in correctional institutions
