Traffic accidents are the main indicator of road safety levels. In developed countries, road safety issues are highly concerned with reducing the number of traffic accidents and the number of victims of traffic accidents that occur. This is an indicator of the importance of understanding accident characteristics. This research discusses the problem of traffic accidents that occur in Kediri City. The purpose of this research is to find out how the criminal responsibility of bus drivers which causes people to die in the world. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the occurrence of traffic accidents, as well as to determine the procedures for criminal liability at the Kediri Kota Police Station in accordance with statutory regulations. This study used a sociological juridical approach by conducting research at the Kediri Kota Police Station. The data collection technique used in this research is literature study, interview and documentation. In compiling the data, this study used a qualitative data analysis form. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the responsibility for traffic accidents committed by the Kediri City Police is based on subjective and objective factors. The subjective factors carried out by the investigator include filing the suspect, the need for the suspect's information in the investigation and investigation process. In the objective factors carried out by the Kediri City Police, it looks at the conditions where the traffic accidents occur, the conditions are seen from the condition of the victims who have died
