STRATEGI SELF PRESENTATION PADA DEWASA AWALPENGGUNA INSTAGRAM

Instagram is one of the most well-known social media used by young adults in Indonesia. A lot of young adults who use Instagram presented themselves in particular way through photographs and videos posted in their feed. The self-presentation through photographs and videos in Instagram provides both positive and negative feedbacks from other users. This study aimed to describe the self-presentation strategies implemented by young adults in Instagram. Based on accidental sampling, a total of 195 subjects participated in this study. The findings describe ingratiation (70%) as the most used self-presentation strategies, and supplication (13%) is the second, while intimidation (7%), self-promotion (6%), and exemplification (4%) remain used albeit only a few of them
