THE STUDY ON THE USE OF THE SIMS MOBILE GAME IN LEARNING ENGLISH

This research was “Improving collage Students’ Vocabulary by Using the Sims mobile game in Malang”. It consisted of two problem statements. They were (01) Can the Sims mobile game be used as a learning tool? (02) Can the Sims mobile game encourage students to learn vocabulary? The objective of this research was to know The Sims mobile game can be used as a learning tool, and to know the impact of The Sims mobile game in vocabulary mastery students. This research was a mix method. It consisted of qualitative and quantitative. The steps of the study were planning, acting, and reflections. The subject of the research consisted of 3 college students with different background who selected by researcher. The instruments of this research were test which was analyzed by quantitative analysis and interview which was analyzed by qualitative analysis. The result of the research showed that there was a significant improvement of the students’ vocabulary after using the game. This statement could prove by the students’ mean score of ability test was 43, 33, but it had increased to 90. It mean that the students’ vocabulary was increased.
