Human identification through DNA has played an important role in forensic science and in the criminal justice system for decades. It is referring to the association of genetic data with a particular human being and has facilitated police investigations in cases such as the identification of suspected perpetrators from biological traces found at crime scenes, missing persons, or victims of mass disasters [1].
