Surgery is the ultimate curative treatment for resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the prognosis for operated patients remains disappointing. Multiple randomized studies have shown that administering perioperative chemotherapy improves the prognosis and increases the cure rate by around 3–5%. The purpose of this article is to take stock of the role of perioperative treatments for NSCLC, which can be completely resected.
