Only a handful of journalists are dedicated to climate and environmental issues in the Norwegian media, and climate journalism is a relatively new field in scientific journalism. This study is based on qualitative interview material consisting of semi-structured interviews with six journalists and five climate researchers. The analysis of the interview data focuses on the communication relationship between researchers and journalists, based on the IPCC reports in 2013–2014. We find that climate researchers are quite happy with the climate reporting, and that the journalists, for their part, want to communicate this field more broadly, but that the dissemination is threatened by cuts that may lead to lower prioritization by the news desks.Et...
