CFD-baserte beregningsverktøy for konsekvensmodellering avhenger av pålitelige eksperimentelle data for å utføre korrekte risikoanalyser i industrien. I denne oppgaven er laminær forbrenningshastighet og Markstein-lengde bestemt eksperimentelt for hydrogen-luft blandinger fortynnet med inertgassene nitrogen (0-40 vol%) og karbondioksid (0-50 vol%) for ekvivalensforhold mellom 0,7 og 2,0. Det eksperimentelle oppsettet inkluderte et 20,235 liters kubisk kammer og et Schlieren-system. Estimering av laminær forbrenningshastighet og Markstein-lengde er gjort med konstant-trykk metoden hvor en lineær og en ikke-lineær ekstrapoleringsmodell er benyttet.
