Injuries are the leading cause of death and hospitalization for children, youth and adults (to age 44) in BC, and the fourth leading cause of death across all age groups. Approximately 1,200 people in BC are injured each day and of these 4 will die. Each year, approximately 424,000 (1998) preventable, unintentional injuries occur. These injuries cost an estimated $2.1 billion per year, or $513 per British Columbian (2001). The primary purpose of this review is to disseminate timely prevention evidence on the major issues related to unintentional injury in British Columbia.Other UBCUnreviewedResearche
