This article reports on how first-career seminarians understood their ministry experiences. It has been long recognized that field education has significant effects on seminarians of any age, such as asssisting students in vocations discernment. Increased understanding of how students conceptualize their field educaiton experiences within their life worlds will benefit those who supervise students directly
