A Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) antenna with circular patches is designed and analyzed in this paper. The overall dimensions of the current designed structure occupied an area of 16mm x 16mm. The substrate integrated waveguide was designed to improve the gain performance of Conventional microstrip antenna for 5G mobile communication applications. In this paper, microstrip antenna and substrate integrated waveguide structures are designed at a frequency of 28 GHz using CST software. The performance characteristics are improved in SIW compared to the conventional antenna and are suitable for various 5G applications.
