(NZEB) Near-Zero Energy Buildings in India: By using Passive Architecture and Emerging Technologies

The idea for architecture and building designing is to find solutions to sustainability challenges throughout the world. Energy consumption and climate change are two of the most prominent current trends of sustainable challenges. Nearly 18% of CO2 emissions are attributed to the construction industry. However, in India, continuing usage of fossil fuel as a primary source of energy consumption (for financial reasons) became the most preferred energy resource. It does have a major negative environmental impact on quality of life because of the air pollution. This paper examines new decision-supporting tools and design concepts for zero-energy buildings. A new method to create a hierarchy for designing a building should be based on Critical thinking (the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue to form a judgment). This research could lead to developing new techniques that can assist and guide architects in designing more near zero-energy and energy-efficient buildings in India. As an outcome of this research, new designers will believe in protecting and caring for their environment, which will increase awareness of environmental issues and the quality of life
