When it comes to African American women, we know that physical activity among them is low. Additionally, chronic diseases associated with low levels of physical activity are high among African American women such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension (Office of Minority Health). This poster presentation will feature the following research questions: What makes it hard for you to be physically active? What makes it easy for you to engage in physical activity? What is your biggest concern for Black women in terms of health and weight? To collect data on those questions we held four focus groups with black women from 18-25 years old.
