Context: The local flora is studied to identify elements that could support the breeding of butterflies (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea) in the butterfly farm that is built in the Camagüey Botanical Park. Objective: To reveal the nomenclature, taxonomy, phenotypic characterization, differences with related taxa, distribution and ethnobiological traits of a host plant (Passiflora incarnata L.) and one of the butterflies it hosts (Agraulis vanillae insularis Maynard 1889).
