Families with Asberger\u27s Disorder Children: Helping High Risk Couples Develop and Maintain Healthy Relationship Skills

American couples today experience significant difficulties in maintaining successful long-term relationships. Couples with a Pervasive Developmental Disorder (such as Asperger\u27s Syndrome) disabled child, often experience a significant rate of relationship failure. The need exists for available educational resources that will help such couples in distress. Distressed, or high-risk, couples need to learn relationship life and knowledge skills so they can interact in a healthy, relationship-strengthening manner. These include coping skills, communication, decision-making and conflict resolution skills, sibling dynamic issues in Asperger\u27s families, and future planning issues for the Asperger\u27s Syndrome child
