The present paper talk about the importance of the games play in the life of children and teenagers life, improving the learning when associated to the study of mathematics. Based on the assumption that learning, when it occurs in a dynamic and enjoyable way becomes more effective and meaningful, it is intended to be evidenced through an experience of building and exploring the game YU-GI-OH: Playing with mathematics in wich way teaching can be supported by a playful methodology, within the reality of students, while teaching supported by copying, reproduction and proofs has contributed to the prejudice that mathematics is a "boring" and "difficult" discipline.
