Cohen’s two-dimensional model of organizational commitment (2007) proposes that an employee has a predisposition to generate commitment when entering a company and that only time later does commitment consolidate as an attitude. However, in this model, the author does not delve into the theoretical development of the included variables. Thus, the present study is intended to complement the theoretical support for the variables included in such a model. To this end, a theory review was undertaken that included the variables encompassed in the two-dimension model.
