An Analysis on Students’ Ability in translating English into Indonesian About Descriptive Text at Senior High School Serirama Pekanbaru

ABSTRACT Syaidia Syahdat, (2021): An Analysis on Students’ Ability in translating English into Indonesian About Descriptive Text at Senior High School Serirama Pekanbaru. The Purpose of this study is to know the students’ ability in translating descriptive text at the Elevent Grade of Senior High School Serirama Pekanbaru. From 150 students of the total population which consisted of five classes, the researcher took 30 students as the sample by using simple random sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher distributed the descriptive text to the respondents to measure their ability in translating descriptive text. In analyzing the data, the text is assessed by rating scale. The result of this research showed that the students’ ability in translating descriptive text is the highest ability was component 4 that is about grammar an mechanic while the lowest ability was component 3 about situational appropriateness .
