Análise comparativa de técnicas minimamente invasivas no tratamento de manchas por fluorose

Fluorosis arises in the teeth formation phase and its main characteristics are white or brownish stains on the dental enamel, which can interfere with the aesthetics of the smile. The aim of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of different forms of treatment for fluorosis and to compare the surface roughness of the enamel before and after each technique was conducted. The treatment was carried out after tooth whitening in a clinical case of split mouth design consisting of three different techniques: microabrasion with pumice and phosphoric acid 37%; microabrasion with Whiteness RM (FGM); resin infiltration with Icon (DMG). The clinical result was satisfactory, and all techniques diminished the appearance of white sptos, making them imperceptible, thus improving dental aesthetics. However, a comparative analysis of the surface roughness showed that the use of the infiltrating resin Icon resulted in increased roughness values when compared to the other microabrasion techniques. Within the limitations of this study, It was concluded that all techniques were effective in the aesthetic treatment of fluorosis stains, although the teeth treated with the Icon infiltrating agent increased the final roughness of the enamel.A fluorose dentária surge na fase de formação dos dentes e tem como principal característica manchas brancas ou acastanhadas no esmalte dental, podendo interferir na estética do sorriso. O objetivo desse estudo foi descrever e analisar a eficácia de diferentes formas de tratamento da fluorose e comparar a rugosidade superficial do esmalte antes e após cada técnica. O tratamento foi realizado após clareamento dental em um caso clínico de boca dividida e consistiu em três técnicas distintas: microabrasão com pedra pomes e acido fosfórico 37%; microabrasão com Whiteness RM (FGM); infiltração resinosa com Icon (DMG). O resultado clínico foi satisfatório, e todas as técnicas conseguiram deixar as manchas brancas imperceptíveis, melhorando a estética dental. Porém, a análise comparativa da rugosidade superficial demonstrou que o uso do infiltrante resinoso Icon resultou no aumento significativo da rugosidade quando comparado as duas outras técnicas de microabrasão. Concluiu-se que, dentro das limitações desse estudo, todas as técnicas apresentadas foram eficazes no tratamento estético das manchas de fluorose, entretanto os dentes tratados com o infiltrante Icon apresentaram aumento da rugosidade final do esmalte
