This research would investigate and compare the gender representation in two EFL textbooks in Indonesia for junior high school. In detail, the investigation outlined the gender representation through nine criteria of gender major aspects: a) visibility in photos and illustrations, b) visibility in the text, c) topic dominations, d) occupations and employment, e) firstness, f) grammatical function, g) attributed traits and qualities associated with gender, h) types of activities, and i) generic conception.
