Collective evidence suggests that inhibition of the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway is effective at reducing markers of pathology in experimental models of age-related and developmental neurological diseases. These include, but are not limited to, models for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, Fragile X syndrome, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex and Leigh syndrome.
