Phil Schwarz received a B.S. Degree from the University of Wisconsin--Platteville, M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of Denver, and a M.S. in Media Technology from the University of Wisconsin Stout. Schwarz began his career as a public services librarian at the University of Puget Sound. He first came to Stout as an Acting Circulation and Serials Librarian in 1967. He later became Automation coordinator and was an Automation Consultant for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
