The city of Detroit has faced bankruptcy, housing crisis and has been losing its population steadily since 2000. Most recovery efforts focus on infrastructural growth rather than workforce development. For Detroit and its residents to effectively benefit from these infrastructural improvements, concerted efforts need to be made for labor force inclusion and skill development.
