What are the characteristics of female terrorists and extremists? What are the factors and drivers that lend to their decisions to join or attempt to join a terrorist organization or carry out a terrorist attack? While modern studies in terrorism have begun looking at females, the literature is still often limited. Studies are rarely comparative or cross-regional and tend to focus on specific roles.
