Apprendre pour (et à) capitaliser des connaissances : une étude de cas

National audienceThe objective of the article is to present an research-action led to the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique. The project, carried by a team of social psychologists of the cognitive processes, relates to the capitalization of knowledge within the framework of a concrete case: the departure with the retirement of a specialized engineer. More precisely it is a question of making so that its following relative acquires whole or part of its knowledge to the maintenance of a technical device with high value, a particle accelerator. Registered in a praxeology of human conduct, from a point of view preaching a `knowing as a practice' rather than a `knowledge as a possession', in a vision externalist of cognition, the study is based on a particular methodology. Going beyond the interview having for goal the “collection of dires” in connection with an activity, the protocol used allows the expert, the Knower, and with its successor, the Learner to jointly build forms meaning which have vocation to be used and suitable by this last in the deferred action of the interaction; interaction being held for direct intake with the context technico-material. We show in what this procedure updates, on the one hand, the multi-localization of the expertise of Knowing and, on the other hand, the need for `tracer' and thus to perennialize the practices of Learning. This led to the expression of recommendations in concrete and concerning matter a psychology of cognition and work. The project contributes to the analysis of the circulation of the knowledge in an organization and thus to the development of scientific work relating to the advent of the companies of the knowledge.L'objectif de l'article est de présenter une recherche-action conduite au Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique. Le projet concerne la capitalisation de connaissances dans un cas concret : le départ à la retraite d'un ingénieur expert. Plus précisément il s'agit de faire en sorte que son suivant acquière tout ou partie de ses savoirs relativement à la maintenance d'un accélérateur de particules. Nous y prônons une approche des processus d'apprentissage qui s'inscrit dans une praxéologie de la conduite humaine, dans une optique prônant un ‘knowing as a practice' plutôt qu'un ‘knowledge as a possession', dans une vision externaliste de la cognition. La méthodologie proposée va au delà de l'interview ayant pour but la « collection de dires » à propos d'une activité. Le dispositif utilisé permet en effet au Connaissant, et à son successeur, l'Apprenant, de construire conjointement des formes signifiantes qui ont vocation à être utilisées et appropriées par ce dernier dans l'après-coup de l'interaction ; interaction se déroulant pour partie en prise directe avec le contexte technico-matériel. Le projet contribue ainsi à la réflexion théorique relative aux processus d'apprentissages professionnels.
