In most histories Western philosophy, entire areas are often obscured, especially that relating to Arab and Islamic philosophy. Chinese and Indian philosophies are no better off. There is a real philosophical problem of understanding and communication between East and West, caused by an endlessly reiterated vision of a self-centered West, fully Christian and not indebted to any other culture, especially not to Arab culture.
