The objective of the study was to evaluate the structure, diversity, and vertical distribution of tree species in a temperate forest of Durango. The dasometric information was obtained from 55 sampling sites (1000 m2) considering: Normal diameter (Dn), Total height (H) and record of everyone. For each species abundance, frequency and dominance were evaluated through the basal area; In addition, IVI and IVF were calculated by family and species. The specific richness and diversity of species were estimated using the Margalef index (Dmg) and the Shannon True Diversity index (1D).
