David Bryant studied music composition and biological science at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, and graduated with a BSc in biochemistry. He pursued his PhD in the laboratory of Jennifer Stow at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience with a focus on cellular trafficking mechanisms for E-cadherin. David then moved to San Francisco for his postdoctoral work on apical polarity establishment in a three-dimensional context in the laboratory of Keith Mostov. After an NIH Pathway to Independence (PI) award in 2012, David moved to the University of Glasgow, where he established his own research group in 2014 at the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute.
