This paper investigates an adaptive coordinated control problem of spacecraft formation flying (SFF) system subject to uncertain mass and external perturbations. First, a general unified structure is proposed to represent the adjustable performance functions like the exponentially and appointed-time convergent ones. Then, an adaptive coordinated controller is developed based on a two-layer performance envelope to characterize the transient and steady-state formation maneuvering behaviors quantitatively of SFF system. Compared with the existing coordinated control approaches, the prominent advantage of the proposed one is that the preassigned position tracking and consensus tracking performance is guaranteed simultaneously while maintaining ...
