Based on the ethnographic account of an Aty Guasu assembly of the Kaiowa and the Guarani of Mato Grosso do Sul (Brazil), this article proposes an approximation between indigenous formulations and reflections of political ecology to find parameters that better describe the political proposal of these indigenous peoples and their clashes with local landowners and the federal government.
