Currently, building a relationship of pedagogical authority is a challenge and a source of tension, especially for beginning teachers. Today teachers are not guaranteed respect, listening and recognition just for the exercise of the role. This means that teachers do not automatically hold an authority granted by the school, as was the case in the traditional order. In this context, the general objective of this research is to examine the degree to which Chilean beginning teachers feel recognized as an authority and the factors they consider benefit and hinder this recognition.
