This article analyzed how the notions about gender and sexualities have emerged in the context of Physical Education. For this, a bibliographic survey was carried out to situate the academic debate on the issue. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted with teachers in this discipline. The analyzes dialogued with the notion of recognition by Judith Butler (2015) and with a theoretical scope pertinent to this perspective. The analyzes indicate a reduced number of researches in view of the debates already carried out in the Education area, specifically in those works that analyze teacher education. The interviews indicated an incipient appropriation of notions that refer to gender and sexualities among teachers of the discipline. These ...
