International audienceWe present a theoretical modelling to quantify the aerodynamic impact involved by a constriction located in the vocal tract on the vocal folds oscillations. We simulate the mechanical behaviour of the vocal folds by a distributed model accounting for this impact. The work is divided in two steps: a static study aiming at estimating the impact on the phonation threshold pressures of the vocal folds due to the constriction, by applying a linear stability analysis to the mechanical model; a dynamic study aiming at estimating the influence of the constriction on the evolution of the glottal oscillations with time, in terms of phase and amplitude. An ‘in-vitro' experimental set-up consisting of a self-oscillating vocal-fold...
