Sintesis Carbon-MnO2 Nanofiber Dengan Metode Electrospinning

Teknologi penyimpanan energi listrik telah banyak berkembang seiring meningkatnya kebutuhan manusia terhadap perangkat elektronik portabel dan berkembangnya kendaraan bertenaga listrik, salah satunya yaitu superkapasitor. Material yang sering digunakan untuk superkapasitor yaitu karbon aktif dan membutuhkan binder. Namun adanya binder mengurangi kinerja karbon aktif sebagai elektroda. Material alternatif yang dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti karbon aktif adalah carbon black. Salah satu jenis carbon black yaitu acetylene black (AB). AB telah banyak digunakan sebagai bahan tambahan aditif konduktif pada proses preparasi elektroda karena memiliki area spesifik yang luas dan low density. Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) memiliki sifat fisis hidrofilik dan polimer semi kristalin. Beberapa keunggulan PVA seperti memiliki thermal stability yang baik, chemical resistance, properti fisik yang cukup baik dan sangat baik dalam biocompability. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, PVA sangat menarik untuk dikembangkan sebagai matriks komposit electroactive yang mengandung acetylene black. Komposit carbon nanofiber PVA/AB dibuat menggunakan teknik electrospinning. Pengembangan carbon nanofiber lebih lanjut sebagai material elektroda perlu modifikasi dengan penambahan MnO2 melalui teknik perendaman. Nanofiber yang dihasilkan dari PVA memiliki diameter ~220 nm sedangkan komposit PVA/AB menghasilkan diameter ~280 nm. Relative humidity adalah salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi diameter fiber. Pretreatment menggunakan iodine berhasil digunakan untuk memepertahankan bentuk fiber setelah karbonisasi. Hasil uji SEM dan XRD menunjukkan bahwa MnO2 terdeposisi pada surface area Carbon Nanofiber. Adanya efek penambahan MnO2 dapat meningkatkan kapasitansi dari CNF komposit PVA/AB ================================================================================================ Electric energy storage technology has evolved along with the increasing human need for portable electronic devices and the development of electric-powered vehicles, one of which is supercapacitors. AB has been widely used as an additive for conductive additives in the electrode preparation process because it has a large and low density specific area. Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) has physical properties of hydrophilic and semi-crystalline polymers. Some of the advantages of PVA are having good thermal stability, chemical resistance, good physical property and excellent biocompability. Based on this, PVA is very interesting to be developed as an electroactive composite matrix containing acetylene black. PVA / AB composite carbon nanofiber is made using electrospinning techniques. Further development of carbon nanofiber as an electrode material needs modification with the addition of MnO2 through immersion techniques. The nanofiber produced from PVA has a diameter of ~ 220 nm while the PVA / AB composite produces a diameter of ~ 280 nm. Relative humidity is one of the factors that affect fiber diameter. Pretreatment using iodine was successfully used to maintain the shape of the fiber after carbonization. The results of SEM and XRD test showed that MnO2 was deposited on the Carbon Nanofiber surface area. The effect of adding MnO2 can increase the capacitance of the PVA / AB composite CN
